  3. cards, now offers its new Grafika line of fully configured PC-compatible
  4. systems.

  9. direct service while increasing reliability ultimately led to Grafika."

  11. An innovator in the computer industry since 1981, DTK pioneered the Bare
  12. Bone concept of the motherboard, power supply and case as an FCC
  13. pre-certified subsystem. DTK has drawn on its 10 years of design and
  14. manufacturing experience to offer Grafika -- a line of complete systems
  15. with consistent DTK configurations, providing unparalleled quality and
  16. reliability.

  18. "Our technological capabilities enable us to integrate more of our own
  19. components than most computer manufacturers," Bayens added. DTK components
  20. include motherboard, chipset, BIOS, disk controllers, power supply,
  21. keyboard, and I/O cards for reliability, compatibility and value. "Every
  22. Grafika system is fully tested and burned in before it is shipped to
  23. ensure reliability.

  28. From the 486-based Grafika 4A powerhouse to the entry-level 286-based
  29. Grafika 2A, the Grafika product line can address virtually any
  30. application.

  32. Grafika is being marketed via an authorized reseller network with toll-free
  33. sales and technical support telephone lines. A one-year on-site service
  34. program is provided by General Electric Computer Services.

  36. All Grafika systems are covered by a standard one-year warranty that covers
  37. all parts and depot labor. Extended warranty service plans are available
  38. from the reseller.

  43. of 1 0 years of research and development. Ease of use, expansion and
  44. quality are built into each Grafika system. Each system comes standard
  45. with 1.2MB 5.25-inch FDD, 1.44MB 3.5-inch FDD, SVGA card with 1MB RAM,
  46. .28mm dotpitch high resolution 14-inch SVGA color monitor, keyboard, mouse
  47. and mouse pad.

  49. Each system also comes bundled with MS-DOS 5.0 and Windows 3.0, and
  50. Spinnaker Windows Works 2.0 installed on the hard drive. Currently, DTK is
  51. also bundling Intuit's Quicken and Chipsoft's Turbo Tax.

  53. Other standard features include one parallel port and two serial ports,
  54. shadow RAM for BIOS and video ROM, 64KB DTK BIOS with built-in setup
  55. program and diagnostics.

  57. Grafika 2A -- Enclosed in a small footprint desktop case, the Grafika 2A
  58. features a 286-16MHz microprocessor, page-interleaved architecture, and up
  59. to 5MB RAM on the motherboard.

  61. Other features include eight expansion slots (five 16-bit and three 8-bit),
  62. 200-watt switching power supply and five drive bays (two 5.25-inch and
  63. three 3.5-inch).

  79. Grafika 3B -- A 25MHz, 386-based system that incorporates DTK's newly
  80. developed chipset, the Novell-certified Grafika 3B features DTK's powerful
  81. new DA300 series two-chip chipset consisting of the DA315 bus and data
  82. controller and the DA312 page-interleaved DRAM controller.

  84. "By utilizing our own chipset, we have been able to achieve a significant
  85. price/performance advantage, while maintaining tighter quality control,"
  86. said Thomas Bayens, director of marketing.

  88. The Grafika 3B features a 386-25MHz microprocessor, socket for either an
  89. Intel 80387 or Weitek 3167 coprocessor, and up to 8MB RAM on the
  90. motherboard (eight SIMM slots), expandable to 16MB by use of an optional
  91. RAM card.

  93. The small desktop case features a 200-watt switching power supply and five
  94. drive bays (two 5.25-inch and three 3.5-inch).

  96. Standard configuration includes the 386-25 CPU, 4MB RAM, power supply and
  97. cabinet, IDE/FDC/ AT controller, eight expansion slots(one 32-bit, six
  98. 16-bit and one 8-bit) and 120MB IDE HDD. Suggested retail price is

  101. Grafika 3C -- The 33MHz, 386-based Grafika 3C -- is one of the first
  102. products to utilize DTK's newly developed cache chipset. System
  103. performance is enhanced by use of a unique high-speed, direct-mapped
  104. write-back cache.

  106. The Grafika 3C -- features DTK' s powerful DA300 series two-chip chipset
  107. and incorporates the PEM3332D motherboard featuring an 80386-33
  108. microprocessor, socket for either an Intel 80387 or Weitek 3167
  109. coprocessor, and up to 8MB RAM on the motherboard (eight SIMM slots),
  110. expandable to 16MB by use of an optional RAM card.

  112. In addition, the Grafika 3C -- has 16-level interrupt, timer clock output
  113. for sound and clock, on-board battery backup, hardware reset,
  114. hardware/software switchable speeds of 10/33MHz and seven-channel DMA. The
  115. mini desktop case features a 200-watt switching power supply and five
  116. drive bays (three 5.25-inch and two 3.5-inch).

  150. The Grafika 4A -- is the ideal system for CAD/CAM, DTP, UNIX multi-user and
  151. LAN file server applications requiring the power, expandability and
  152. performance of an 80486 at a very cost-effective price. The vertical case

  154. hidden 5.25-inch full-height drive.

  156. The Grafika 4A -- features a high-speed -33MHz 80486 microprocessor, socket
  157. for optional Weitek 4167 coprocessor, eight 16-bit expansion slots, and up
  158. to 32MB RAM on the motherboard.

  161. chip's 8KB internal cache and supports its external burst memory

  190. 3A and 3B. All service is contracted by DTK with General Electric Computer
  191. Services.

  199. CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif. (Feb. 11, 1992) -- DTK Computer has been selected
  200. to participate in Novell Labs Certification Alliance. Through this
  201. alliance, Novell Labs will train and authorize DTK to conduct NetWare
  202. compatibility testing, enabling DTK to produce more NetWare-compatible
  203. products and release them in a more timely fashion.

  205. "The Novell Labs Certification Alliance will allow NetWare-compatibility
  206. testing to become an intrinsic part of DTK's product development cycle,"
  207. said David Owen, vice president of Novell Labs. "As DTK integrates
  208. compatibility testing into the development cycle, more products and
  209. configurations will be tested, and a broader base of NetWare certified
  210. Products will be available to customers."

  212. "This program provides DTK with a powerful tool to meet our time-to-market
  213. requirements for new products and give our customers the assurance that
  214. our systems are NetWare-compatible," said Thomas Bayens, director of
  215. marketing of DTK. "DTK is honored to be a member of the Novell Labs
  216. Certification Alliance, especially in the initial phase."

  218. The program has been developed in response to the increasing industry
  219. requirement for tested and approved hardware products.
  220.  
  221. The program, offered only to developers with whom Novell has an established
  222. relationship, consists of intensive training, dedication of developer
  223. personnel and equipment resources, use of and compliance with Novell test
  224. suites and guidelines and submission to audits. Certification is still
  225. governed by Novell. Products that meet certification requirements will be
  226. listed in the Independent Manufacturer Support Program (IMSP) index
  227. published by Novell.

  229. In addition to establishing a test lab, DTK sent two Certified NetWare
  230. Engineers (CNEs) to Novell for an intense two-week training course in
  231. December 1991. While in training, DTK engineers conduct extensive
  232. NetWare-compatibility tests on DTK products, side-by-side with Novell Labs
  233. engineers. Novell provides test suites that must be used not only during
  234. the training but in subsequent tests at DTK.

  236. Once training is completed, Novell will conduct an audit on a minimum of
  237. five or more products tested by DTK. After successfully establishing
  238. compliance, DTK is authorized to conduct tests, and then submit results to
  239. Novell to receive product certification.

  241. Certified products will be published by Novell in the IMSP index as well as
  242. released and distributed by NetWire BBS, Novell's Product Information
  243. group, and Novell's NetWare Support Encyclopedia.
